ANALISIS FUNGSI “DACTYLOSCOPY” DALAM PROSES PENYIDIKAN TINDAK PIDANA PENCURIAN (STUDI POLRES MALANG KOTA)

Crime of theft is many increasingly happening in Indonesia with various modes and methods by the perpetrators of theft. Many cases occur, some actors try to eliminate traces and evidence so as not to reveal their actions. Meanwhile, the police, they collected various evidence, indications, statements from various parties that could assist the investigation. One of the efforts is done by using fingerprint proofing tools. It should be known how the function of the science of fingerprint aids (dastyloscopy) for investigators on criminal acts of theft of two inhibiting factors for investigators in revealing criminal acts of theft by using the science of fingerprint aids (dastyloscopy). This research method uses a sociological juridical approach, primary data sources obtained from Malang City Police, secondary data sources from books on theft, books on dastyloscopy, Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning Police, Criminal Procedure Code. The data collection technique was in the form of interviews with the Malang City Police Headquarters Ident. It can be seen that the function of dactyloscopy plays an important role in the process of investigation of criminal acts of theft. With the help of equipment called MAMBIS which is connected to (e-KTP) so that it can immediately find the identity of the victim in the process of investigating the crime of theft. Dastyloscopy is a science investigation which is a legitimate evidence that is as evidence of expert testimony as stipulated in Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Factors that hinder law enforcement officials, namely the lack of knowledge of investigators about fingerprints and will hinder the investigation process, is because the investigation using the dastyloscopy fingerprint science is also not only half-done in applying it because fingerprinting is an appropriate tool to assist investigators
